Beach Atlas: Sveti Stefan among the world's top 100 beaches - a combination of Montenegrin natural beauty and rich history

sv-stef

Sveti Stefan beach is one of the 100 top beaches in the world, announced the British portal Beachatlas, which created the list with the help of travel experts and influencers from around the world.

Sveti Stefan is ranked 31st on the top 100 list.

"Sveti Stefan Beach, on the island of the same name on the Budva Riviera in Montenegro, is a striking symbol of the country. With its colorful terracotta roofs contrasting with the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea and connected to the mainland by a quaint stone path, this island is a fusion of Montenegrin natural beauty and rich history," writes Bičatlas.

Two beaches from Croatia were also on the list - Bačvice in Split (21st place) and the Podmorski tunnel on Vis (59th place), Splavovi in Serbia (50th place), Bled in Slovenia (75th place) and Jablaničko beach lakes in BiH (57th place).

Explaining the selection criteria, the portal states that this is the first ever selection that has expanded and encompassed various criteria such as value to the local community, diversity, equality and inclusion, lifestyle offer and cultural significance.

"This broader perspective has allowed us to shine a light on those beach gems that don't usually appear on traditional, one-dimensional 'best beaches' lists," they explained.

Building on these criteria, they added, they developed a selection process in which they invited selected travel experts and influencers from around the world to cast their votes and help compile the list.
