Because of uncertainty in the Middle East, British tourists are rapidly changing their travel plans and turning toward safer destinations — with Montenegro standing out thanks to a remarkable 122% increase in searches, placing it among the most desired summer choices in Europe.

Travelers from the UK are choosing safer and proven destinations for this summer, while also increasingly considering long-haul travel.

According to data reported by British tabloid The Sun, citing an analysis by price comparison site TravelSupermarket, the first days of March saw a sharp rise in searches for a number of destinations, including Montenegro.

Montenegro ranked 4th on the list of destinations British tourists are most interested in searching for, recording a 122% growth.

Data for the first 25 days of March show that British travelers searched most frequently for Sardinia, where searches rose by an impressive 236%.
